Alaska Vein Care is proud to welcome Dr. Joss Wertz to our team of vein specialists.
Dr. Wertz is not only a compassionate provider, but has been trained at the nation’s top institutions. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Integrative Biology at Brigham Young University before going on to earn his doctoral degree at Midwestern University’s Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine in Glendale.
After earning his degree, Dr. Wertz completed his Diagnostic Radiology Residency at the University of New Mexico where his hard work and dedication established him as an expert. He was awarded the distinction of service as Chief Resident, and was the Resident Educator two years in a row.
Dr. Wertz has also contributed to the medical community as a published author on the topics of Trauma and Acute Cholecystitis. His published works include the following pieces:

He continues to give back to the medical community on a regular basis by giving research and educational presentations at several national and international society meetings. Some of these events include meetings held by groups such as The Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe, The American Society of Emergency Radiology, The American Roentgen Ray Society, The American Society of Neuroradiology, The Society of Abdominal Radiology, and The Iowa Society of Radiologic Technologists.
Dr. Wertz loves his wife, his dogs, and spending his spare time in the outdoors. His passion for recreation, family, and life is inspiration for his work helping patients get back to enjoying the things they love most.
